MUCH MORE THAN JUST A SALE
This project represents much more than just a sale of a rare sword. It represents a complete change in the way the world perceives Japanese history and all ancient Samurai swords.
The Samurai sword symbolizes all of the best traits of the Japanese people: ingenuity, perfectionism, strength, elegance, imagination, craftsmanship, and artistic genius. Because of that, it is perhaps the item that best symbolizes this country. Undoubtedly, the Samurai sword is a true cultural ambassador of Japan.
The blade of the Samurai sword is a technological marvel. Experts around the world agree that an authentic Samurai sword is a perfection of a bladed weapon in every way. In some cases it took as much time and effort to create a well-crafted Samurai sword as it took Michelangelo to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. The decorations on these swords are works of art in themselves. It required as much artistic skill and inspiration to decorate an important Samurai sword as for Leonardo Da Vinci to paint the Mona Lisa. Because of this, it is truly disheartening to see these ancient Japanese works of art sell for far less then majority of half-famous modern art. With everything we know about these magnificent artifacts, with thousands of books and countless films dedicated solely to the legendary image of the Samurai sword, it is simply no longer possible to ignore the gap between their internationally high cultural value and what looks like an unnaturally lowered monetary value.
Today there is a clear tendency to value ancient Samurai swords for their unrivaled craftsmanship, for their unique history, for their cultural power, to even value them aesthetically as visual art. However, the time has finally come to value them financially. Without a doubt all ancient Samurai swords of significant historical importance must be treated as national treasures of Japan, and valued accordingly.
It is clearly evident that the buying power of the super-rich is there. The rarity, the cultural value, and the public appeal for Japanese swords are there as well. And yet when it comes to these unique artifacts, it is obvious that these factors have never met before. That is what this project is all about. We are here to unite the culture, the recognition, and the riches in one transaction. We hope to set an example and inspire the Japanese people to start valuing all ancient Samurai swords more than ever before.
With this sale the buyer, whoever it may be, will not only gain a valuable historical artifact but will single-handedly raise the importance of all Samurai swords and Japanese culture all over the world. We are confident this sale will forever change the way people view all ancient Samurai swords.
